February 2008. ‘Total Stress’ Party at Maria am Ostbahnhof Club in Berlin. Responsible for the art direction, graphic design, audiovisual and multimedia creation as well as the background research for this party.

This music event took place in one of the most important clubs in Berlin independent scene during the 2000s. Live music and DJs accompanied with a wide array of visual settings consisting of projected images on the massive walls of this now closed-down legendary club.

2003. Ciëlo. Madrid. Responsible for the co-direction and production of “Cielo No Futuro” (Cielo No Future) video clip. Live performance for Spanish TV iconic music program “Los Conciertos de Radio 3” documented by Jose Salas.

As a part of NO, a graphic design studio founded along with designer Miguel Velacoracho (2001-2005), this project represented Jose Salas’s first collaboration with this music duo.

XIII. Potipoti A/W 12-13 Collection

2012. Potipoti’s A/W 12-13 Collection.

Responsible for the direction, edition, and art direction for the promotional video presenting ‘XIII’ autumn/winter collection by the Spanish-German fashion label Potipoti.

The video, produced with the support of the Spanish Embassy in Germany, presents a collection inspired by number 13, generally considered to be unlucky, and includes music from Ex Models, a project by the musician and producer Hugo Capablanca.

Responsible for the design of visuals and settings for different music events, audiovisual performances, life-visuals, video jockeying and video installations.

The M.D. video jockey work material has been travelling throughout the main independent clubs in Madrid and several international music festivals for more than five years now. Among them, the Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB), Experimentaclub and Klubbers Day in Madrid, Territorios Festival in Seville, as well as touring with groups such as Jeans Team in venues all over Europe.

2008. Ciëlo. Madrid. Direction and edition for Ciëlo video clip entitled “Entre destello y destello”. This band could be considered the finest expression of the most lyrical electronic pop, since Silvania, their previous musical project, set an outstanding precedent in European electronic music production during the 90’s.

This video was intended to pay tribute to one of its members after he passed away. It was edited compiling different materials. “Finally, take me away; take me by your side at last. I shall enter the empty space among sparks”

2009. Audiovisual performance for Experimentaclub Festival.

This audiovisual performance was produced for the international experimental music festival Experimentaclub’09 and consisted on live studio image mixing with CC video of the performing artists and their interaction with the festival audience. Both the concept and the acting were developed combining two experimental music sessions which took place during two different days within the festival duration.

Alkomerz 2011. Berlin. Direction, production and art direction for the video clip-flash mob “Bomberjäeckchen” by the electronic music German duo, Jeans Team.

This viral video was recorded in the streets of Berlin during the winter of 2011. Participants spontaneously assembled after an open call via Internet, radio and other social networks. During several hours, people walked along the busiest streets in Berlin wearing only Bomber jackets.

2010. Berlin. Direction, script, production and art direction for the music video ‘Totes Kino’ by the German music band Jeans Team.

This video is the result of the prolific collaboration between MDBuró and the German electronic music label Alkomerz. The video was shot in Stattbad, an old 50’s pool facilities transformed into a contemporary culture centre. The setting reproduces an early 1900s bistro where two lovers are ready to enjoy the magic of a cinema which “is already dead…”

2011. Potipoti’s ‘Lovers Rock’ S/S 2011 Collection. In charge of the direction, edition, production and art direction for the promotional video presenting ‘Lovers Rock’ spring/summer collection by the Spanish-German fashion label Potipoti.

As the result of the collaboration between MDBuró and Potipoti, the project aims to promote this Berlin-based Spanish designers label that tries to bridge the gap between graphic design, art and fashion. The video includes music by anti, a leading Spanish electronic pop musician.

Silly Europeans is a kaleidoscopic project by Machines Désirantes Buró. A place without a defined space for playing nomads in real time. A first, almost random movement adopted the form of a radio program. The waves spread freely and pervade the environment with vague and silly sounds and visions. Staggering through a dead and arrogant continent, provoking an empty mocking face. You! Silly European, enjoy yourself!

2012. Lince’s Music Video. Berlin. Found footage video. Innovative technique used with the occasion of this video production for the musician LINCE.

The images used in this work were extracted from “The Endless Summer” by Bruce Brown, a classic 60’s documentary film, resulting in a free and sensitive approach to the issue of a young electronic and ambient music creator.

VUÉLVETE UNDERGROUND. Ciëlo

2007. Ciëlo. Responsible for the direction, edition, production and art direction of Ciëlo’s video clip “Vuélvete Underground”.

The tune became a hit in Spain’s independent scene, giving name to a series of parties celebrated in Madrid under the denomination V.U, “Vuélvete Underground”, and organized by MDBuró. The video was filmed during the celebration of one of these underground parties attended by Mario and Cocó, Ciëlo’s two members. “Vast as you are, Madrid can always take you beyond”…
